SOURCE: Key wont turn

no it sounds like the ignition clinder is broken or worn down inside either that or maybe the key itself. get a new key made (local hardware store) and try that one if that doesnt work im afraid that you may need a new key and tumbler

Need a key or key code broke the only key

two of the most productive methods i have found are
1) local junkyard such as pick n pull or u pull it (if keys are coded call a local locksmith or even some tow companies can and will recode a key for a cheap reasonable price)
2) advance auto and or autozone and or o'riely auto parts are excelent sources of help and can get you the correct replacement ignition lock cylender

2003 santa fa wont start, the dash board lights are on and the radio is playing but the car won't turn over. The key turns in the ignition with no resistance, we had to disconnect the battery to save it.

That means the linkage rod fell off your key cylinder. (this happens whenever someone tries to steal your car) the push rod presses your ignition switch. If you know how to pull your steering wheel off, you can replace the key cylinder (if some of the casting is broken) by going to a junkyard. Get a cylinder with a key (you can make copies of the new key later) If the key cylinder was ok then just reattach the rod and put the steering wheel back on (being careful to keep the wheels facing forward before you remove the steering wheel so that you put it back the same way)

I accidentlt put the wrong spare key in the ignition, it started the car, but now i cant get it ouit. what do i do

will take some works take out the whole steering column and take it to car key repair shop or take the car to the key shop they can take it out another change the steering column comes with the key or take a pliers pull it hard but might damage the ignition. some junkyard area they have a small repair shop outside take it there you might save a lot of money.

Key ignition switch needs replaced lock cylinder how do i change key broke off inside damaged needs replaced wires broke off behind key switch

disconnect the battery and pull the air bag fuse out to diable the air bag. Remove the steering coulmb trim covers and expose the lock cylinder. If the lock cylinder can be turned and is functional then push in the bottom tab and turn the lock cylinder then pull the whole cylinder out. If the keys broke inside and the lock cylinder is not functional the bottom tab will need to be drilled out.

Key broke off in ignition

use a toothpick with a tiny drop of super glue on the end - touch the glue end to the end in the ignition, and let it dry for a few - make sure the key is in the off position, and try to pull it out using the toothpick.

Your ignition switch is probably bad. Pull one from the junkyard to save money and you will be up in no time.
