Question about 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor

Open Question

Problems transmission I have a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor and this only happens during the first start up of the day. I will shift into reverse and back out of my driveway fine, but then when I shift from reverse to drive it shows on the dash board that it is stuck between neutral and drive and the vehicle will not go forward like it is stuck in neutral. but then when i shift the transmission back into park and back to drive it is normally fine. what could i try to correct this issue?

Use Mitsubishi transmission fluid. These transmission are extremely picky. If you have not had a full transmission flush using Mitsu ATF fluid I would suggest you start there.

How do i change the transmission fluid and filter in a 2004 awd mitsubishi endeavor myself

I am not familiar with that modle, but generally i would raise the car and support it securly.
Then if there wasn't a drain plug, i would remove the pan from the transmission ,following instructions from a good service manual.
hope this helps

This can be caused by several problems, one dirty filter and fluid in the transmission the fluid gets trapped behind filter and causes a low fluid level That is where I would start before moving on to more serious problems.
