Question about 2009 Chevrolet Malibu
My Chevy Malibu 2009 ls won't stop honking after I close the door. I have to disconnect the battery to stop. Anyone had this situation?
Why not just unplug the horn rather than the battery? One wire plugs into it. The cause could be a number of things. (i.e. Horn button stuck in steering wheel, defective anti-theft system, etc....) This is a tough one to diagnosis.

wires from the horn run down the steering column and pass the area where the shift linkage is also in the column. its either a loose wire, or a chafted wire inside the column. Be VERY careful working on this if you have airbags. they must be disarmed before you work on the column.

Hi. If your airbag has not deployed, you don't have to replace it. The airbag may have to be removed to get at the horn circuit. Try taking it to an independent auto repair place. I'll be willing to bet that they'll give you a better price for the repair. Good luck! ricardok45

security will no be affected but if you don what to do things like re-set the clock or the car has a stereo with a code and you dont have the code anymore its better if you use a sigarret plug with a 9 volt battery they're sold at any automovile store specifically to maintain settings. hope this helps
