Ok Btad
does the fan run at full speed on high, sure it does, i bet.
the heater only works on a hot engine.
180F min. and holding. some go to 200F (on newer cars)
so does it? get fully hot, and NORMAL.
the heater uses ,engine coolant to steal its wasted heat.

if not?
1: bad or missing engine coolant thermostat.
2: RAD fans stuck on, or is just too cold.\
3: no location stated. and we do get posts from the yes, north pool. or up in high Canadian provinces??? or Norway?
up in alaska we keep some engines running full time (no heated garage)
and all have rad blocked 1/2 way with cardboard.
and some we spray the whole engine with foam to keep it warm.
so not stating location (not one ever in 4000 posts) we cant answer you.

what do we do, well, I point the IR PYRO gun that the thermostat
housing, (need photo?) and see 10 less that stat rating.
if 180 i see 170 if 200 i see 190.
see?

this is the www, and we get posts from all over planet earth.

First with the engine warm, turn on the heater normally. Now, locate both heater hoses and grab them to check the temperature of them both. If they feel the same, then the problem is electrical or vacuum. If they have different temps, then the heater core isn't getting water. This could be from a clogged heater core or a malfunctioning control valve.

My 94nissan Altima car heater just stopped working, how do I know which part to fix to get heat again?

Check to see if blower is working by running 12v to it. If that works check if your heat/ac controls are working by looking at the area where the flaps are and turning the knobs/buttons. You should hear the flaps move or see the pins of the flaps turn. See if your heater core is working. Should be hot as coolant from engine passes through it.

I have a vapor lock in the cooling system that I can't fix. I changed the thermistat because I was getting very little heat, that worked for a while, then April of 2010 I couldn't get any heat from...

alright here goes the van probably has the 3.1 or the 3.4 engine the engine is fited with a bleeder valve that when you change your coolant or change a thermostat you will have to bleed all the xtra air that is in the lines if you dont the antifreeze will not circulate and causes no heat and could also cause your engine to overheat tearing up your engine. make sure you find the bleeders and get all the air out and you should have heat. hope this helped

Heater problem

is your heater set on defrost this will cause your engine fan to run because it turns on the compressor for air conditioner this helps to extract moisture from your warm air defrost  and the fan in the engine compartment helps keep it the engine cool from the extra load on the engine this is normal
