Fuel filters are usually found on the right bottom side of the car near the fuel tank. It's made of aluminum and could either have hose clamp ends or clip on connectors to attach fuel lines to it.

VW jetta vr6 2001 not accelerate, What need to be diagnosed?

It does start, correct? but does not accelerate, correct? A 2001 vehicle probably needs the fuel filter changed. That is probably your first, cheapest step.

I have a 1997 Jetta hex vr6 I have a misfire in cyl. 6 and a p1300 car fires up smooth then shuts right off give it fuel an it's in a like a limp mode barely runs

P1300 indicates: Misfire detected & fuel level too low.

Try changing the fuel filter and / or the fuel pressure regulator...

As for the misfire: Change all of the spark plugs, plug wires and have the coil (s) checked out and if it / they are bad, then you should replce it / them...

I hope this helps you out....

2003 gti vr6.I use the car but when after seat for 20-30 min Starts but sputters then turns off. If gas pedal is pumped to attempt to remain running, backfires

Sounds like you have the original fuel pump. Get a mulitimeter and with the key in the on position, check the fuel pump harness to make sure its getting 12 volts and do the same after 20 min. Also find a fuel pressure gauge that can read fuel injection pressure, and at first check the pressure its getting and then check again after about 20-30 min range. If the pressure is low than you need to replace the pump and strainer and probably throw in a new fuel filter while youre at it. If the voltage is low than its a wiring harness problem.

Just wondering where the fuel filter is located.

i think the fuel filter is connected to the fuel pump below the vehicle in front of the tank.
