Looking at the Engine on a ford is different from a gm. The correct cylinder numbers are 1234 from front to back on the passenger side and 5678 front to back on the driver's side

The injector is a good possibility, although you should check for spark in the wire first, as the electrical is the weakest link in the system. Put a spare plug in the end of the wire with the plug resting on metal, then have someone crank the van to see if you have spark that far, test and replace spark plug, (do not get shocked!) then look into a new injector or a good cleaning.

SOURCE: Cylinder #1 misfire on a Ford Taurus SHO

Did you check the condition of the spark plug? If the plug is good do a compression check; a very low reading could indicate a sticking intake valve (sticking open). The easyest and cheapest way to fix a sticking valve is to introduce 1/2 can of Sea Foam into the air intake manafold; just follow the instructions on the can except you will use 1/2 can instead of 1/3 can. That Yamaha motor from what I have found collects tons of gunk on the valve stems. Good luck.

If you pull the #2 plug out and start the engine do you see a spark? You didn't mention if you checked the wires or not, but it could be a bad plug wire. If there is a spark, I'd try and see if the #2 injector is actually firing like you mentioned above.

that's the problem with cheap scanners, no details, could be spark plug, wire or injector, do plugs first and go from there

PO 305 misfire on 4.2 2000 f-150 changed plugs, coil pack and wires still have problem any suggestions?

Faulty or clogged injector. Engine mechanical issue (low compression, bad valve). po305 is misfire of #5 cylinder. Look specificly at the cylinder for the problem.

Missfire #1

Might be a sticking valve. If they stick, then they usually do it when the engine is cold. Hook up a vacuum gauge, then start the engine cold: if the needle bounces during the misfire, then suspect an intake valve is sticking.
