Question about 1996 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
I CANNOT reset the immobiliser since the battery was flat - and subsequently re-charged. The book instructions say to turn ignition to position II after triggering the key fob security light ( which works). I was told that you had to unlock the boot ?? or the Passenger door manually - but that has not cracked it. Any suggestions welcome as a mouse is starting to nest !!
Boot is the trunk,I have a 1999 s class and never had trouble like that.Lft battery unhooked for days.Is it not starting? If so your K38 relay might prevent you from starting.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: mercedes 1999 c200 key fob
Could it be the key just needs re-coding? maybe you are worrying to much as £177 would be about right as that would need coding etc., Try phoning your local Merc dealer or take the key and V5 to them for coding (Hopefully)

In regards to your service indicator reset, this needs to be done by the dealer using their computers.
Take it in and ask them to do this. Of course it should have been done with your last service.
With the merceds cars releying heavily on electronics, i would stongly suggest that you get it serviced, especially something that can possible effect your driving.
Keep in mind that although it's expensive to keep getting it serviced at the dealer, it will help hold the resale value.
Hope this helps,
