Is the clutch engaged? If so, did you check the Freon level?

SOURCE: aircon works but blows hot air

I had the same problem (during Summer!!) - If you take the Fan/A.C/Temp Control panel off, you'll probably find the plastic bracket that the control cable mounts to, is broken. I just used 3 zip-ties to hold everything in place. 30 minutes work, & 50c parts!! No problems since.

if oil is leaking on the compressor you may have a valve cover gasket leak have that replaced and that will stop your leak problem.your compressor has a leak in it also thtas why its not engaging. you should have it dye tested in order to find out what really is leaking in the system.

SOURCE: E180auto passengerside aircon always blowing cold 1992 model

Sounds like the vent control motor is bad. It controls how much hot water flows through the heater core. OR the heater core for that side is clogged

Hello. the problem is within the high or low sensors. The only way to know is to have them tested. An auto electric repair shop has the diagnostic tools to check this out. Joe

Aircon systems have a control valve or reversing valve which sticks due to non use.Just where that valve is on the Jimmy I am not to sure, but hope this points you in the right direction.

The a/c on my 2003 honda accord will all of a sudden stop blowing cold air. I already had the filter changed thinking that was the problem. The mechanic is having a hard time figuring out what is wrong...

have you tried refilling the aircon gas ?

It goes empty after a while.

The reason for cold then not cold is because it is a system that works in reverse of your radiator.

The gas cycle through the system. goes through the radiator of the the aircon system (not the same as the one for the engine). there is extracts the heat out of the air. the air is now cold and pushed into the car.

the warm aircon gas the made cold further along the system but the dont have enough in the system.

imagine athletic ruynning around a track. all 20 are bunched up together. there is w spot light in the centre of the infield shining on you.

the track is your aircon system.
the spot light the air coming into your car.
You are the car
The athletes are the aircon gas.

When they run between you and the light the air is cooled off and you are getting cold air.
now of goes the air (athletes) around the system and till they come along again you get hot air.

Now fill up the aircon system (put more runner on the track and voila, less light reached you cos there is more gas in the system.

However if you refill it and after a day or even just a week it the same again you have a leak in your system and will need to have it looked at by someone specializing in car aircon repairs.

01 dodge 2500 v8. Air conditioner started out strong, blowing cold air..temporarily would start blowing warm and then back to ice cold...Noticed when stopping and turning corners a hissing noise coming...

Hi. Have your car aircon evaporator cleaned. Check also the drain hose. All water should go out of the car through the drain hose. There might be something clogging up the hose that is why water will run out the floor and that causes also the aircon to work intermittently.

Have a good one!

2006 passat air conditioner takes about 10 min to cool and blows warm air when car is idle. What should I do?

Take the car to an aircon specialist, the circuit must be inspected and, if necessary, refilled. You should also check the valve on the heater, it might be stuck open.

Aircon not blowing through dash vents

If it blows thru other vents, your air ducts may have come loose. If you don't get any cool air, your coolant is low (it evaporates during the time and below some point it will not circulate anymore). Also the aircon blower can be faulty.

Air Conditioning - blows warm

Hi

If the fuses are all ok and you can hear the aircon clutch clicking when you attempt to switch it on, then I think it may be time for a re-gas! You could do it yourself with a can of gas from an autofactors, but you wouldn't get the pressure right, and, there would still be old gas in there.

If you took it to a garage, however, they would **** out all the old gas, and then hold the vacuum in there for a while to check for any leaks. Then they would refill to the exact pressure with fresh new gas.

Regards

Geordie
