SOURCE: Engine goes to low power
I'm guessing when the engine light comes on, the computer is going into a default mode -- enough to keep the engine running, but not efficiently or with power. You need to get the error codes checked to determine what is going bad. It may be a throttle position sensor (TPS), or a crank or cam position sensor, which feed critical information to the computer.

you need ti check your fuel pressure out and also do a no load test on your altenator because that might not be producing enough electrical energy to start the truck
