Positively sounds like you have a loose connection on the back of it, or not quite a clean connection with one of the connecting points. I'd try firming the plug into the rear of the radio, or cleaning the plug with electrical switch cleaner....give a squirt in the socket as well.

2007 Mini Cooper convertible, stereo signal got worse and now can't listen to the radio, other functions still work. Have changed aerial and still no change? Any clues??

some sort of bad connection inside the radios socket
or bad coax

check the antenna with an ohm meter
to see if the coax is shorted out
and also that there is continutity between the center pin of the coax radio plug and the antenna

you can demount the radio and stick a bit of wire in as a quick test
if you get the signal then its something coax related
if not its something to do with the front end of the radios reciever circuit
and you need a radio engineer that fixes car radios and cb etc
they will make it work for sure
i could in ten mins flat ...possibly a transistor has failed
or a bad connection as it comes and goes ...

2001 BMW X5 radio works intermittently

Most sat nav/radio issues are caused by a flat battery! The most simple solution to try is th switch the vehicle off, go to the fuse box on the right hand panel of the boot (as your facing boot) remove fuse 24 (5 amp) for 5 minutes then replace and start vehicle as normal! This will reset the nav/stereo system! Rich B

Replace car stereo now Anti lock light on.

here are two definitions.
First: ignition coil module 4 times ref circuit intermittent no pulses.
Second: Distributorless ignition system 4 times signal interrupted.
You will want to inspect the spark-plugs, spark-plug boots, Coils for defects. Let me know how it goes.

Sound from stereo goes on/off intermittently. Stereo power remains on, but sound will go off whether you are listening to the radio or a cd. Is there a seperate amplifier hidden somewhere?

It might not be the answer but do you have Traffic News set up? Many radios have a different volume setting for Traffic News which may have been set to a low level. Try turning the volume up when it has muted and it may solve it.

AUDI A4 B7 MAIN STEREO PLUG

You may have the clock and radio power leads reversed. Clock needs to be on a line that is hot with key on or off...radio goes to a lead that is only hot with key on.Same goes for lead for power antenna...don't need power there unless car is on. Don't forget...I'm not there so I can only make an educated guess.
Good Luck

Radio has no sound or intermittent sound.bmw e39 5 series '00.

You might want to suspect a stereo amplifier. Does your car have DSP? In any case, look in the trunk on the left hand side. You will find your radio amplifier back there. It will have about a 3in connector with a bunch of twisted pair wiring. Remove the connector and make sure there is no water contamination. All sound processing takes place in the amp.

Sporatic problem with Stereo and Stereo Display

I have had this problem intermittently since I purchased the vehicle in 2004... the dealer could not fix but showed me that there is a relay that you can pull and re-install. It's under the hood and must be done with the ignition and lights off. Pull the relay, wait 10 secs and re-install and pblm goes away. If you are standing in front of the vehicle there is a relay box on your right/vehicle left. The relay is located in the lower left-had corner of this box. Not a permanent fix, and in my experience the problem goes away when the vehicle is parked for an hour or so but if you have a long drive and want to use the radio, this 60-second fix is worth knowing...
