Question about Buick Rendezvous

Open Question

2002 Jeep Liberty won't start without pushing gas pedal

Jeep doesn't start unless you press the gas and raise the rpms. Then you have to hold the accelerator for a minute or so until the rpms even out or it will stall. Sometimes it won't start and we have disconnected the battery for a few minutes and it will start. We have replaced the throttle body positioning censor and air idle control sensor. It does have and exhaust leak, also.

SOURCE: '03 Jeep Liberty starts weakly and needs gas pedal to idle

Turning over is what the starter does to the engine ...you can turn an engine over with no spark plugs in it...but you can't start it. Turning over is cranking .....the starter turns (cranks) the engine over (comes from when you had to put a crank in the front of the engine and crank it.)
Does it crank normally but has trouble starting???????

Have you checked for a vacuum leak? Be suspicious of the solenoids you see with vacuum lines going to them. I think it has 3 or 4 of them. don-ohio

SOURCE: 1994 chevy lumina van. It will start and idle but stalls when gas

you have a fuel pump relay that may be defective, or fuel pump or maybe the crank position sensor,a cam position sensor.the best thing is to have a scan performed with an obd1 scanner and you will know where to start the repair.

SOURCE: battery drains and idle problems when jumped. 2002 Jeep Liberty

I would look at the fuses and fuseable links, and check the output of the alternator. If you disconnect the battery you can check the battery for a dead cell, and check the major circuits for a draw with everything turned off.

Jeep 2002 grand cherokee dies unless i keep foot on the gas...

The idle relearn needs reset. Keep your foot on the gas at about 900 rpm. Make it idle for about 5-6 minutes. Slowly ease up on the gas until it will idle on it's own, it might take a while. After you get it to idle, it might be idling real low, but on its own, Let it sit and idle until for 20 minutes. After that it should be back to normal. You will have to do this every time you have the battery unhooked for a while.

Engine runs rough after about ten minutes /idles really low

Just trowing some suggestions out there, but, I would check the idle air control valve (solenoid) or the throttle position sensor. If they check out then my last guess would be the map sensor or the vaccuum to the map sensor. Hope I was able to help. Best wishes.
