How to test j style fuses

First all - what do you mean "J -style" fuse? All cars I know use a small two pronged plastic enclosed fuse -

All fuses can be checked in several ways... 1. If it has a clear/colored case you can see the fuse element - it should be solid with no breaks, 2. If it doesn\'t have a clear case check it with a ohmmeter - it should read zero ohms, 3. If no ohmmeter... touch one terminal a small 9v battery to one end of the fuse and touch the other end of the fuse and the other terminal of the battery with your tongue at the same time... you should feel a small electrical charge. 4. Also... just change it with another fuse of the same value - most cars have more than one.

I have a f350 diesel. The light does not come on on the dash for 4 wheel drive. Does not make clicking noise and will not engage. Stick on the woods. Changed 30 amp fuse. Changed relay. No luck....

Generally speaking you may need to get a shop manual to troubleshoot this.
Depending on the year and model of your truck, when you use the switch on the dash, an electric motor moves the gears in the transfer case then the light comes on. You model may also have a vac pump that locks the hubs. You would need to check the fuse under the dash plus the fuses in the engine compartment plus the 3 relays, then the transfer case.

Fuel pump fuse locatin 2000 elantra

There is fuse in fuse box..check that...In most cases if fuse is fine then this would indicate that fuel pump has failed and needs to be replaced. in some cases in some cars the cut off switch fails and needs to be reset or replaced...as to the location on your car?? more than likely fuel pump is bad....hope this helps and good luck.....Please rate my post and thanks in advance.....if need more help fill free to contact me..

Blower motor wont come on

First thing to do is check the fuse panel for a blown fuse. If thats the case just change it and you're done.

If all the fuses are good then you have a bad motor. It is usually easy to change, should be near the dash under the hood. A few bolts and a wire harness.

2003 mitsubishi spyder horn dont work

In many cases, a blown fuse is the reason a horn does not work. Locate your fuse box. The specific location can be found inside your owner's manual. Inside of the fuse panel, you will find a diagram of the fuses. One of the fuses will say Horn. I recommend changing the fuse. If you do not know a lot about changing fuses, a auto parts store should be able to help you out. Hope this helps!

I cannot seem to get the radio fuse out of my 2004 chevy aveo. I looked at it and it is enclosed in a black casing. How do I get it out of the casing to change it.

It is not "enclosed" but it is difficult to remove. There is a mini-fuse puller on the inside of the engine compartment fuse block.

Stuck in 4WD low

If you have an electric shift transfer case, (little knob to change to 4x4), then the motor may have gone out. There are several fuses and relays associated with the 4x4. Check all of the fuses, replace any that are burnt out. You can not check relays, so you will have to replace them. If this does not solve the problem, then the problem could be in the 4x4 mini-computer, or the motor could be burnt out, or the transfer case could be locked up. On most ford transfer cases you can take off the bolts that hold on the electric shifter motor, and manually turn the knob that changes from 2x4-4x4. If that know will not turn with the vehicle in neutral, the transfer case may be locked up. If it is not the transfer case, look into finding a new motor for the transfer case.

Changed alternator now no horn locks int. lights wipers etc

You probably popped a main fuse somewhere. Check all fuses under hood & dash. Try removing battery cables for a minute or so, in case of resetting breaker involved, just in case.
