SOURCE: one headlight lit normal the other is very dim

Switch the lights and see if it is still that side. If it is dim on the other, then it is the headlight itself. If the same side is dim, then check you voltage on wires on both sides and see if you are getting enough on that side. Hope this helps some.

SOURCE: trying to fix the wiring on headlight

try checking the ground wire on the frame next to the head light if you have a volt meter measure voltage on the hot side, if there is 12 volts then measure it on the ground side, is it lower than 12 volts? if it is you have bad ground strap follow the wire it will be near the radiator core support and sand it off if that does not help then it's in the light switch.

SOURCE: I have a 2001 cavalier with a dim driver side

Give this a try------get a piece of wire and strip both ends, the black wire coming out of the plug on the head light, stick one end of the wire in there and the other end to a good ground or the negative battery terminal with the lights on, if the light gets brighter, there is a bad ground to that light. I hope this helps, cause you have just done about everything else.

I have a 1995 ford mustang and im at a total loss my headlights are extremly dim the passenger side is so dim it might as well not even be on ive put new bulbs in it and a new headlight switch and even...

Like Pit Crew, my first suspision is a bad ground [aka earth] or a bad connection in the power supply to the headlamp. If the left headlamp is normal, that eliminates the headlight switch and dimmer switch. Unplug the electrical connector from the passenger side headlamp. Using a set of 14AWG or heavier jumper cables, connect the lamp to the battery via the jumper cables. If the lamp is bright, use the jumper cable only for the ground or the power. This should point you in the direction of the problem. The ground point for the passenger side headlamp, parking lamp and turn signal is the same. It's G103. You should find this ground wire on the passenger side of the radiator support. Remove the wire and clean the connection between the wire terminal and the sheet metal of the radiator support.

How to find an electrical disturbance in 1998 ford expedition

Normally this condition is the result of a poor body ground connection. Testing for this can be deceiving. At the static(nothing on) condition, testing can show a good ground. However when a circuit is excited, it has a determined resistance and a set current flow. If the ground connection to this or a branch circuit is loose, corroded, or broken wire. This will allow just enough connection to show as being good, but not good enough to complete the circuit with the required amount of connection when energized.

My passenger side headlight in my 1996 jeep grand Cherokee is not as bright as the driver side. I just changed the light bulbs and the problem still exists.

It's a bad ground. Turn on the lights and use a test light to probe each wire. Write down your results. Then turn on the brights and do the same test. The one with no voltage (or in this case possibly a dim glow) is ground. Ground it.

The headlight passanger side is dimmed i had replace lighgt bulb and plug what am i doin wrong?does that metal wire piece works as a ground?

Yes it does, if you hook that back up you should be back to having a nice bright light. That is one of the first things that I check before replacing a headlight is making sure the ground is still installed.

1997 Cevrolet blazer, dim headlights even after replacing. fuse box cannot be found.

A dim headlight after replacing would indicate a bad ground on that side. Check the black wire running from the headlight and try following it back to where it grounds. Or you can run a ground wire direct to the headlight and make sure you ground it to bare metal, or the negative post on the battery.

Left low beam is inoperative. Replaced both bulbs,

I had the same problem with my 2001 Forester. Try this as a low-cost and easy repair attempt: buy brand new fuses and replace both L/H and R/H fuses. If one of your fuses is marginal, your headlights will exhibit this problem. Replacing my headlight fuses with brand new ones solved my situation.
