Mk3 golf handbrake light problem

That hand brake light is also your conventional brake
warning lite. Hopefully its the flimsy connector and switch that is making it flicker. But to play it safe have some one do an inspection of your brake system and if it turns out to be the wiring or the switch we can both laugh about it. This repair is not a biggie at all IF ITS THE SWITCH OR ITS WIRING.

My fuel pump is not getting power, I've changed the relay but still not getting power to the fuse or the pump

The fuel relay and inertia switch could be two different items. The inertia switch kills power to the pump. If there is a relay in between the inertia switch and the pump, then it would mean the inertia switch was tripped by slamming a door or an impact. Check your owners manual for the inertia switch. VW Golf MK3 wont start

fuel relay could be faulty. i think its number 30 or 167 in the fuse box under the driver side steering. it could also be the fuel pump or connector on the fuel pump under the black metal plate under your trunk carpet. you could try manually throwing in fuel into the intake to make sure its not your car's ecu or ignition system. if it starts and stays running it could be what took me a few months to discover after i had intermittent problems. there a small vacuum hose from the fifth injector on a 1997 mk3 gti (4 cylinder) that connects to the injector rail. i think its some kind of activation for the electronic injectors. my pipe was broken and i just cut it and my car hasnt been better since! i know this is an old question but i hope it helps someone out there!
