If steering wheel shakes bad tire on front. If whole car shakes bad tire on rear. Or tires could be out of balance. If steering wheel shakes when brakes applied, front rotors are warped.

97 chev cavalier. When I'm driving along, an I hit the brakes, the pedal immediately starts pulsing hard. The slower I get, the worse the pulsing gets. Can someone help me out?

The pulsing is likely caused by a malfunction in the ABS (Anit-Lock Braking System) ?

Best bet is to have it serviced at a shop.

I would check the wheel bearings, does the front end make a roar when driving and change when you turn right or left

ETS light has come on

This is usually caused by a bad wheel speed sensor that are not too bad to change, you need to remove the calipers and rotors to get at them but after that they are just held in with on 8mm bolt and then they just unplug a pull out.You should get the codes read by someone that can scan for both engine and abs codes to confirm but i think you'll find that this is where you end up.

97 Cavalier brake chattering at 80 km/hr or higher

Sounds as if your brake rotors are warped from overheating. You can have them machined to take this out if they are thick enough. This should take care of the problem, if not replace rotors.

Chevy Cavalier 2001 ABS Brake problem

You don't say what brakes.

I have had many cavys and worked on them. Great cars.

Your problem sounds like a **** rear wheel cylinder and bad drums/rotors and abs sensor wire.

My car just did everything you describe, I put in new wheel cylinders, drums, brakes, rotors, and 2 new rear brake lines. For less than 200 bucks the car is like new again and has well over 100k.

You can do it yourself. Doesn't take special tools. I followed online how-to's.

1992 cavalier brakes hard when not running soft when started changed the booster (used) pads are good shape, rotors ok, changed master(used) Bleeded them still the same. maybe new rotors and pads? vacume...

Bad vacum or a bad master.... rotor and pad would have no affect on petal feel. never use used parts in a brake system, new or remanufactured only!!

Abs brakes on 92 cavalier

did you follow a bleeding order? some cars do have an order that must be followed. does the car have abs? abs units go bad / have to bled as well and will give you the same effect. did you notice any leaks? aby shinny spots on any of the tires on the inside?
