How many litres of oil does an 2003 e200 kompressor w211 take?

Waiting for oil to drain from the upper engine to the bottom oil pan. It is all explained on the forums and in the attached video.

A very tiny amount over will do no harm. A large amount over can cause serious problems. The moving parts inside the bottom of the engine will 'slap' the oil in the sump causing it to foam up and create air bubbles in the oil system. Air bubbles can stop the oil flow around the engine stopping the engine being lubricated.
Drain all the oil, refit the drain plug (to about 25Nm), and measure the amount of oil your puttting in. Fill with 4 litres and let it settle through the engine for about 5 to 10 minutes. Check the oil level. It should read as low or very low. Add another half a litre, (total of 4 and a half litres). Again let it settle. Check your oil level. It should be somewhere near the level you need. No more than a quarter of a litre more should take you to the full mark.
You should have NO MORE than 4.8 litres in the engine.

5l for the engine if memory serves about 3 to 4 for the box but just fill it till the oil dribbles out the filler hole in the box

Buy 5 quarts, put 4 quarts in, start the engine let run 20-30 seconds, wait 1 min to let oil drain back down in pan then check it. Add 1/4 of the 5th quart at a time untill the dipstick reads full.

The oil plug is located on the oil pan. If i remember correctly, on the M111 engine, it should be on the driver side at the lowest point on the side. You may have to remove a lower shield or belly pan to see it. They are usually 8mm bolts. I use an oil extractor or evaluator so I don't touch the drain plugs. I hope this helps.

Does it have a motor oil cooler cooled by motor coolant that could have possibly leaked thru? Transmission fluid cooler?
Was there tell tale on the replaced head gasket indicating a leak?
Condition of a replacement head is important, with no warps, cracks.

Sounds like a sensor shorting or the gauge is faulty.
