How do you adj. drvrs. seat up or down on 2000 buick ave park ave ultra

Chances are one of the motors has gone out. There are 3 motors for each of your power seats. One controls the forward/backward motion, one controls up/down/tilt, and the third controls the reclining seat back. In my '95 model, there is one fuse for the seats under the driver's side dashboard. There should be a diagram inside the fuse panel cover denoting which one controls the seats. Hope that helps!

Then - put a wrench on the nut in the center of the tension pully.. Move the tension pully to loosen the belt.. Pull belt off..

Yes. Put a jack under the motor and remove 3 bolts from side of engine and the long center pivot bolt in mount and the 2 bolts that go top down into the frame and loosen the 2 bolts below mount. Jack up the motor until you can separate the mount, leaving the engine side in and removing the frame side. The engine side can be moved out of the way without completely removing.

The code PO742 indicates the torque converter clutch is stuck on.
The torque converter is what connects the engine to the transmission.
It engages and disengages according to signals from the pcm, to aid in
smooth shifting. There are a couple of things you can try. make sure trans. fluid is full, if thats ok check the 20 pin connector, located on left
side of car on top of transmission bell housing. Make sure there's no
corrosion or bent pins. If this clears the code your all set, if not you may
want to ask your mechanic and see what he/she recomends.
Hope this helps.
Good luck
