Question about 1996 Pontiac Grand Am
Codes P756 and 758 come up on scanner.
Should be easy it's located on the top of the transmission by the shift lever.

Not exactly sure of what you are referring to, but I'll guess. If the spocket you are trying to remove is the one under the large clutch plate (4th gear), you'll have to remove the axle clip in the differential, then pull out axle, 4th clutch hub, and then the sprocket will come off. Did i guess right?

The codes mean that the Electronic Pressure Control Solenoid is going bad. The computer detects that the shifts are taking longer than 0.65 seconds. Then the computer commands maximum line pressure to avoid burning out the clutches, hence the hard shifting. My 2002 Grand Prix had the same problem, and I had great luck just installing a shift kit to speed up the shifting and haven't had any further issues.
