Will 20 inch rims destroy your transmission?

The overall circumference of the tire - regardless of the rim diameter - is what creates strain on the transmission. Typically tires mounted on oversized rims have a low profile (shorter sidewall height) so the difference isn't as bad when compared to trucks with extra large tires designed for off-road / swamp.

You can find out the difference easily by measure the height of the tire - top to bottom. This is the diameter. Multiply this number by 3.14 to find the circumference. A tire 24" high has a 75.36" circumference and a 25" tire is 78.5. Every inch in height causes a 3.14" inch change in circumference and will make your speedometer report a speed that is slower than actual and odometer less, too.

How to fig out planetary gear ratios .between sun gear and ring gear and planetary .it has multi gear sets

The ratio is determined by the relationship between adjacent gear circumferences. The circumference of a circle is expressed as Pi D, so the ratio between adjacent gears is the ratio between their diameters. The overall ratio for the multi gear set should be the product of the ratios of all of the gear sets.

15" circle what is outside measurement

If you would like to know the circumference of a 15" diameter circle this is the formula:
circumference = radius x 2 x pi
circumference = diameter x pi

in our case:
circumference = 15" x 3,14
circumference = 47 ,1" (that's 119,634 cm)

I HAVE 2004 FORD F-150 WITH A 4.6 LITTER V8 AND JUST PUT NEW TIRES AND RIMS ON AND THE TIRE SIZE IS 32 IN DIAMENTER AND PEOPLE TELL ME THATS WHY THE TIRES ARE TO BIG BUT I DONT THINK SO. SO IF ANY ANSWERS...

The tire circumference must be the same as the factory tire circumference otherwise your speedo will be out. If you increase your mag size then your tire wall must get smaller to maintain that same circumference. If a tire shop has sold/changed the tires for you it is their responsibility to ensure the car leaves their shop in a safe and legal condition.

Watching someone in the service if you are on your car if the tires are as large in circumference? I solved the problem were in the car using tires 235/45/18 front and 255/45/18 rear,this is a mistake because the wheels are different circumference and ABS sensors to know that the wheels turning in the front differential in to the back , and thinks that the car has different in traction and trying to correct it at reduced power of motor! to the rear tire should be 255/35/18 therefore lower at how wide! The problem with the gearbox with it. Try this my information

Will the 15 inch rims from a 2000 caravan fit a 2006 grand caravan

The 2000 uses a 215/65-15 tire meaning the tire has a circumference of 2075.02mm

The 2006 uses a 215/70-15 tire meaning the tire has a circumference of 2142.56mm

The difference in circumference would be 67.54mm or 3.25%

If the speedometer displays 70mph, you'll actually be traveling at 72.28mph

This amount is considered to be irrelevant so it will fit
