SOURCE: 2002 Ford Explorer Jerking when in motion

Does the jerking feel like a fish bite ( especially when pulling a hill?) if so it may need plugs and wires

if you have one bad plug wire the problem seems to smooth out at higher speeds

Hope this helps

That dtc (diagnostic trouble code) is a code reflecting a problem with the pressure control solenoid which sends pressure through the valve body and shifts gears you will need to have your transmission serviced by a transmission shop soon or it may get worse at any time

Location of spark plugs for a 03 explorer ( v8 4.6l )

Most likely does not have wires. It should have coil packs on the plugs. If it does have wires, should be the 1st cylinder on the drivers side of the engine in a V6, rear cylinder on passenger side of the V8.
