Hi, I have a 2.0HDI Expert which was doing the exact same thing as yours, blowing thick black smoke, sluggish and loss of power on gradients, a hissing sound and surging. I replaced the air flow meter but that didn't help. I was told to replace the turbo but a turbo expoert told me not to as it would blow white smoke if it was faulty. I was then told to replace the injectors but a diagnostic test showed them to be functioning fine. I was then told to look at the intercooler which had thick sludge at the lower left pipe. I replaced it today - Sunday 12th July and it is now driving like a new van. It now pulls me up gradients with ease in 4th and 5th instead of having to drop gear to get to the top. I got a replacement from Euro Car Parts for £147 inc VAT. To tell if this is your problem, look through the gaps in the lower section of the bumper at what looks like the radiator and look for sludge over the inside of the bumper and all over the pipe where it joins the back of the radiator (intercooler). Also open the bonnet and look down behind the grille for the same sludge. Hope this sorts it for you. Barry, Newtownards, Northern Ireland.

Hi I have a Peugeot 307.2006 mod 2.litre turbo HDI 16 v diesel,I just change my rear brakes but now I need to bleed them ,dose anyone no the sequences of the bleeding them thankyou

Bleed the front brakes first, then do the back. Do them one wheel at a time until the fluid streams out of the valve without any bubbles, then shut the valves.

Do you know how to bleed the brakes?

Fill the reservoir with brake fluid, attach a bleeder hose to the valve and put the open end in a jar to catch the fluid. Open the valve, and depress the brake pedal multiple times until the fluid has no bubbles coming out, then close the valve. Discard the expelled fluid and remove the hose and then go on to the next wheel. Repeat until all wheels have been serviced and then your brakes should be good to go - or stop in the case of brakes. Good Luck!

Where is the crankcase breather on 406 hdi

crankcases breath through a PCV valve attached to the inlet manifold as a requirement by pollution laws . Look for a hose attached to the rocker cover with a non-return valve in line ending at the inlet manifold.

Had a new engine fitted to my expert 2.0 hdi. Heater inside cab is now blowing in cold air. Think water pipes may be on wrong way. please help

It is not the water pipes on the wrong way. It is probably the Heater valve controlling the cooling flow it stuck or uncontrollable. if also the heater core gets clogged up and needs to be flushed. You can check it by flush water in one end of the hose to see water coming out of the other end.

2005 peugeot expert 2.0 hdi turns off?

Sounds like a flakey connector - try hunting down all the connectors you can find under the bonnet. Separate them, spray with WD40 and reconnect. Start at the engine management computer (silver block with fins on and lots of wires coming out). Take great care not to bend pins.
