1 Answer

98 Suburban will not start

The last few days the truck would run rough now and then just for a few seconds and then it was fine. When driving down the road it died and would nit start back up after 1/2hour it started and let it run for about 10mins shut it off and went to start it and it would not start. Let it sit all night and the same thing today it started with it off and it started right back up did this 3 times and turnover it run for about 5-10mins shut it off and it would not strat back up. Any help would be great.

Check for spark when it won't start. If no spark, it's an ignition problem-suspect the crank position sensor. The computer won't cause spark from the coils if the crank sensor gets hot and fails.

I don't want to seem like a smart ****, but the blown fuses were telling you that something with the component that it was protecting is going bad. So changing the fuse the first time was a go idea, the second time was not. It told you, that something was failing and you refused to pay attention.

But at least you know which fuse blew, so now all you have to do is find out what it was protecting and replace it or what feeds it.

Well...my ball park guess on this is just a tune up. The engine light is usually showing a misfire. If the plugs are bad then the cylinder is not igniting the fuel and it is flooding out. With what is here this makes sense to me. Let me know what it does turn out to be.

97 cavalier starts and runs ok from a cold start after a few minutes of warm up it starts to run rough and miss. If i try to drive it it will start out ok but won't shift automaticly but shifts fine m

Sounds like possibly more than on problem, crankshaft position sensor, or ignition module likely on starting prob which maybe affecting shifting due to hard code in ecm, or shift prob could be shift solenoid in valve body of transmission. Both parts readily available from local parts store

1999 GMC suburban hesitates start, when first starts then will **** and misfire after about a few blocks of driving......takes a bit for it to stop misfire /jerking and then it runs fine. Sometimes, not...

It might be your coolant temp. sensor-not the sender for your dash gauge, but the sensor that tells the computer the engine temp. I'd also replace the spark plugs. If they have a sooty, black coating your engine is running rich. Does the engine light still come on? If same code, you need to check that circuit out more fully.

Rough running engine at temp

0340 is camshaft position sensor and the other 0325 is the knock sensor. Chances are you need to replace the sensors and good to go.

Mine does the same thing as far as shutting down on long trips---usually 1 1/2 - 2 hours. I don't think it's overheating....it's got something to do with antitheft system
