Question about Ford Excursion
Truck wont start. When you turn the key, you can here the clicking inside the truck, lights are all on but no other sounds. Its just as thought youre sitting there with the auxillary switch on. Starter is good. Battery is good. Truck will start if you place screwdriver across starter but wont start if you try to jump the battery. Checked fuses and relays, they seem to be good. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do a bench test on the starter. Remove starter, hook up a ground cable to starter, and positive to two prongs on starter and it should spin. You can do this in vechile too but not suggested due to risk of injury. If it doesn't spin, probally a solenoid or the starter it self. Unlikely but possible.

SOURCE: 95 F250 not starting
You said you tightened the battery cables, did you check the other end of the negative where it bolts to the engine. When you tightened the cables you also used a battery brush and cleaned the posts and ends?
