SOURCE: Coolant leak in VW Golf mark 5 1.9 TDi auto DSG

There is, however, an air outlet into the driver's foot area. If the heater core is leaking, the air coming through the heater core will carry the droplets into the entire air ducting system. The driver's foot area may be the closest outlet. If it smells like coolant, you need to replace the heater core regardless of where in the cabin the coolant is coming out.

SOURCE: electric windows not working, how do i fix this golf gti 115 mark

To isolate your problem a few questions needed.

  • Do you hear any noise when you hit the switch
  • Does it move a bit
  • Can you operate it from the outside locking mechanism
If you can hear the motor (regulator) but window does not operate, then we established that power is being supplied and fuse/relay are ok. Your problem is a bad window regulator or a guide cable is fraying and caused it to knot up on the guides.

If you hear nothing at all then you first need to figure whether it's a fuse, a relay or the wiring is bad.

COOLANT LOSS ON GOLF GTI DSG

(I will give you what would be most common in the U.S.A. reasons)
1) A leak somewhere that can be seen with a really good strong light, and probably a frame hoist so you get under the car.
Since the coolant is colored, you should be able to see or taste the leak.
Since the coolant is poison, you will need the tiniest droplet to taste for it.
The engine might need to be running to pressurize the cooling system for the leak to show up.
2) An internal leak in the engine, traceable by white smoke out the tailpipe.
3) A malfunctioning cooling fan or radiator cap.
God bless your efforts.

You don't. There are special tools and procedures. You'll have to take it to the dealer, I'm afraid. Hope this helps.

The only place you can get a price is from a repair shop. Find a shop that does a lot of VW work.
