Remove negative battery cable and key out.
Remove the ECU cable from ECM. Inspect and clean all contacts with 70% alcohol.
Allow 15 minutes of dry time before reconnect everything.

Hopeful the cleaning will clear the ECU to CAM bus communication disruption.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: jag x-type error code p1699

This problem is normally associated with a failure of an ecu/can bus output, in many instances it is also associated with anouther problem being present, Air Con not operating correctly is a favorite. The best bet is to narrow the problem down try and locate what else isn't working and this will guide you to the cause problem. Problems can be anything from a faulty ECU to a blown fuse.

CODE P1699

P1699 No CCD/J1850 Messages Received From The Climate Controlicon1.png Module (CCM) this should not have anything to do with your emission test. Suggest taking to your local auto parts dealer that will pull the codes from your OBDII for free, check your phone book and call them to ask if they offer this service. most national stores will do it because they will then sell you the parts and give advice on repairs

What type of oil should i use? for a 2002 jag.

A quick call to any jag dealer should give you specifics (or your owners manual) My personal recomendation is a synthetic 20w/50. Synthetics usually cover a wider range than indicated on the label, and will out perform any conventional lubricant.(regardless of brand) Therefore 20w/50 will give you all the protection you need against wear and will still retain a low pour point in temperature extremes.
