Check the fuses. After that could be bulbs or corroded/loose/broken/shorted wires either on the way or inside lights. Ground/earth wire or it's connection might be corroded.

I cannot get my back up light or my brake light to work. my blinker light and my running light work fine. just the backup lights and the stop lights are giving me problems.

CHECK ALL BULBS IF BULBS OKAY,REASON REVERSE LIGHTS DONT WORK YOU HAVE FAULTY INHIBITOR SWITCH.FOR BRAKE LIGHTS NOT TO WORK,EITHER BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH FAULTY OR TURN SIGNAL BAD,BECAUSE MOST CARS NOW TURN SIGNAL SWITCH AND BRAKE LIGHTS SHARE SAME CIRCUIT.

Check the turn signal switch. especially if the center brake is the only brake light that comes on when you step on the brake pedal. Sometimes wiggling the switch will get the brake lights to work momentarily.

Left signal works right doesn't both brake lights do not work

you may have two or more problems
check flasher unit for turn signal trouble and the bulb and wiring if first two don't fix problem
it is possible that your turn signal switch in steering column may be bad

as for brake lights, it could be one of three problems
either brake light switch on brake pedal is not working or wire loose or wiring to lights could have either been broken or come loose-you may want to check both bulbs first-although this is rare but does happen

'Rear brake failure' flashing on the screen, yet the brake & indicator lights are working.

rear brake failure means something to do with the brake system not the lights

Electrical problems

sounds like the brake light switch is the culprit for both the intermittent brake lights and cruise control problems. the engine warning light could be an unrelated issue that needs to be diagnosed.

Tail lights and brake lights not working - not fuse - what can it be?

Brake light switch, located on upper brake pedal should be checked, that is most likely your brake light issue, but U say tail lights aren't working, but running lights do, tail lights and running lights I would consider to be the same, so can u clarify that for me? Let me know how the u do w/ brake light switch, and if u have issue w/ tail lights?
