Question about Chevrolet S 10

I have a 2001 S10 wih a 5spd tranny, when i get off work and fight the traffic home in the evenings, after it gets so hot under hood, it will just sputter out and die on me. it does start back up afte

It doesnt run hot, but in traffic when cool air isnt getting under hood is when it happens

Flush cooling system add new antifreeze and check cooling fan see that it works properly.

You need to bleed it. Leave the radiator cap off, start it up and when the thermostat opens it should push out bubbles out through the radiator, if the water level drops in the raditor then top it up. When you can't see any more air bubbles, close the radiator cap.
If this doesn't help then it could be the thermostat.

2001 s10 hood wont open with latch, tried bouncing hood while latch pulled but will not work. What now, read remove grill but looked at instructions, said open hood take out four screws under hood.

look at the cable sounds like when you pull the release lever the cable is sticking and not moving enought to pull the latch over usually you can reach up from under and give it an extra pull ,have someone else pull the lever in the truck while you look up under the bumper you should be able to see if the latch is moving

My reverse lights do not work on my 2001 Beetle TDI 5spd. and I did replace the switch/sensor on trans under the hood. What do I look for next?

Have someone put it in reverse and hold on the brakes while you check for voltage on the harness. It should read 12v. If you have power, then you have the wrong bulbs installed. If not, retrace the wires until you find the circuit at fault. this is very time consuming and frustrating. take your time.

Do I pull trans with engine to do engine change out

well pulling motor and tranny would make it easier in respect to fighting with the tranny bolts but in order to get the tranny and motor out one shot you need a good 2 to 3 feet clearness of the ground and will need to take the radiator and support out to get it out.

tranny bolts aren't that bad except for the top one and if the tranny mount is removed and the tranny hanging down you can get at it with a long extension.

i do it that way because i have a lift and air tools. not sure what you have and what your capable of but it will depend on you situation what is the best way!

if i was doing it on the ground i may take it all out one shot!

because its air cooling need to check the temp switch and the relays for the fan under your hood

How doi check fluid level in auto tranny on 2001 daewoo lanos

You do not check your fluid by removing the plug. That is the drain plug thats on the bottom. You pull the dip stick out that under the hood usually around toward the back or the motor. There will be marks on it that has cold mark and hot mark. Let the car warm up engage the emergeny brake, put in drive, check level on dip stick. should be at the top mark that says hot.

Hi it is possible on your car that it will have a obd2 socket but will not be obd2. What are you useing to try to read the fault codes?
As far as the fault goes have you tried a new MAF?
