Mushy brakes are almost always 1 of 2 things:
- Air in the brake line; when brakes where changed they weren't bled; this would cause a soft brake pedal.
- Most common reason for a soft pedal is a bad master cylinder. Once they become faulty they fail to provide the pressure required to adequately stop the vehicle.
Either way, have this checked out at a brake shop immediately. A soft brake pedal is not something to be fooled with.
