Question about Cadillac DeVille
Before it died lots o0f ticking noises under drivers seat before it died. replaced battery and it was fine for 2 days, went to leave today, ran car and warmed it up or 5 mins. put it in reverse and it died. battery voltage went from 11 to 14 then back and forth between the two numbers. tried again to start it same thing. fuses seem ok. worried about that ticking noise. any ideas of what it could be? battery drains after 2 days of using car and it was running fine. shouldn't it have drained as soon as I put the new battery in instead of 2 days later? help? any suggestions are appreciated. thanks.
A healthy battery will take a charge and discharge and be o k -you have several things going on-the ticking noise is some kinda rely that is turning on and off probably because of low voltage-the voltage jumping around sound like the alternator is giving up and is not fully charging battery-you may also have a drain on the battery that doesn't stop when you turn the key off like an extra power amp for the radio- you can take your car to autozone or advanced auto and they will check out the charging system for free and tell you what is going on-cheers Denny

SOURCE: 2003 Impala - mystery problem???
you have something thats staying on with power when you shut the car off, first check all lights glove apartment, underhood,in trunk ,just because ther closed doesnt mean the light is off, check your car at night it might help to see the lights,if not another way is to take a multi meter to the battery and while some holds the meter pull out fuses in your fus box one at a time to see when the meter makes a change, this will help you to narrow down whats staying on and draining the power from the battery,if this helps please give me a fix ya vote

SOURCE: Battery on BMW 740i keeps dieing
you need to disconnect one side of the battery, put one lead from an ampmeter on the battery post you have disconnected and the other ampmeter lead on the cable you took off the battery. with nothing turned on on the car , all doors closed the reading on the ampmeter should be no higher than 0.17 amp, if it reads a lot hgher go to the fusebox and remove one by one all the permanent supply fuses looking at the reading every time until you find the circuit that is causing the high reading, this will be the drain. alot of the time it can be central locking system playing up, boot light, glove box light not switching off, stereo wired wrong. hope this helps.

are u sure the alignment (side to side, up and down) of the trans on the bell housingis not out of spec, that will burn the bearings out very quickly.

There is a major short somewhere, the hum you hear in the speaker
is the frequency of the DC electricity flowing through the speaker coils,do all four speakers hum or just one?Do you have a stock or aftermarket stereo?
