Where is the blend door actuator located on an 89 chevy corsica. base 4 cyl with ac

My info on your model year isn't the best. Are your actuators cable operated or vacuum operated? I'd have to get up under your dash to get at that actuator. Also, look at the hvac housing, under the hood, can you see any actuator hook-ups?

Sorry, I don't have better info. I did find an exploded view, vacuum operated, for 1990, don't know if 89 is the same?

Check to see if the air is coming out of the defrost vents up on top of your the windshield. If this is the have a vacuum line that has either come loose under the dash....or....the vacuum controller located behind the AC/Heat controller is not functioning properly. ( Tip....Vacuum is what actuates the "doors" inside your AC/Heat plenum...directing airflow straight out front vents...up to the defrost....and down to the heat.....

un plug actuator then remove actuator after it removed plug it back in but leave it out of axle turn key on and shift down to 4 wheel drive the actuator should move out if it dont that your problem if i does move this isnt your problem it either the tranfer case or in front axle

Check the 4wd actuator located under the battery. They are a rubber diaphragm and tend to rot out after time. If the actuator doesn't seem to look worn then check the vacuum line leading to it for leaks. There is also a 3 point vacuum switch in which that very vacuum line comes from, this could also be your problem. In the end after seeing you say you can manually put it in 4wd drive I would start with the vacuum line first, so your not tearing things apart. You can see the vacuum line so its easy to check. Just cut and activate the 4wd drive. If you get no vacuum then check the 3 point vacuum switch located on the tranny. If you do have vacuum move onto the actuator located under the battery tray. Hope this helps!!

Front hubs dont engage but transfer case works

The front axle has an actuator that is controlled by a vacuum switch on the transfer case. This switch is a common problem, and if it fails, or has no vacuum, you will have no 4 wheel drive. Check to make sure it is getting vacuum, if it is, most likely a bad switch, Part is readily available for around 25.00 USD, The switch is located on the drivers side of the t-case, above the linkage.

My 89 chevy s-10 pickup 4 wheel drive doesnt work. the transfer case goes into gear but the front hubs seem like they dont lock in i was told it was a fuse or a vaccuum line but i have never heard of...

On the 1989 s10 it has a vacuum actuator that actually locks the front differential in ,you need to check that first, those go bad real often, and without it. There's no way it will lock in the axle, the transfer case will lock in ,but the front differential uses a actuator. It 's located under the battery tray and there is a cable towards the front of the differential. Id say the actuator cable has gone out, most parts stores can get you one ,that what goes wrong with those 99% of the time and it only takes about 5 minutes to change it out. Good luck but check the vacuum line to the actuator under the battery tray.
