the switch in your glove box is a( pto switch ) power take of switch two hoses go the trasfer case the third hose go to the acuator box that located low on the fire wall on the passenger side.

4wd 4HI and 4LO not working


Check the fuse to the 4x4, if the fuse is good then check the 4x4 electric motor actuator on the transfer case. You should hear it work from 2wd, 4hi to 4low and back to 2wd with the push of the switch. if you don't hear it working then check the wire harness at the actuator motor, look for any damages like corrosion or cracked wire connector clips. If the 4x4 actuator is working on the transfer case, then the front hub 4x4 actuator may have gone bad and that's located on the front differential. Pushed button...no light & no 4wd

The front wheel do not spin in four wheel drive. The transfer case goes in low and they still don't spin


The 4x4 actuator is working on the transfer case, then the front hub 4x4 actuator may have gone bad and that's located on the front differential. It's common for the clip there to corrode and break and is an easy fix with a new collar pin, at worst it's the diaphragm on the vacuum actuator that is located under the battery tray. There is a vacuum switch on the top of the transfer case, driver side but when that fails, your front hub stay's locked in the on position most of the time. check the vacuum lines and 4X4 actuator in the front differential. 1997 chevy blazer. when I push the 4wd button, it flashes and goes out. wont go to 4wd.

1996 sonoma when i shift into 4hi or low light comes on but front wheels wont engage. But the transmission does. any help to solve this problem

My four wheel drive doesnt work on 97 jimmy but clickes when i push the button?


there is a vacuum actuator under the battery it could be leaking vacuum. There is also an electric actuator on some models found in the same place. There is a cable that runs from the actuator to the front differential that locks it in. Make sure you have vacuum and the actuator is pulling the cable when 4x4 is engaged. hope this info helps.

The 4x4 is not working on my jimmy. I already replaced the swithc that goes on the dashboarda and still not working. Any ideas??

I have a 93 s-10 blazer the 4 wheel drive is not working i think its a vacuum line where are they located


There is three vacuum line on the driver side, top of the transfer case. One comes from the engine, 2nd line goes to the breather vent, 3rd goes to the 4x4 actuator diaphragm. The 4x4 actuator is located under the battery tray, check the vacuum line and listed for any vacuum leaks at the acuator. Inspect the cable from the actuator to the front differential (pumpkin), it's common for the cable clip on the pumpkin to corrode and will need to be replaced. Good luck and keep me posted.
