Question about Cars & Trucks

I have a 1999 chevy blazer LS 4.3L and the problem I'm having is my heat/ac won't change from vents to anything it keeps coming through the vents even when I keep switching settings. Now I hear a vaccum leak in the switch and I have replaced it over 10 times with different ones from the junk yard I've run out of options the only thing I can think of is buying a brand new unit from the dealer. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it also when I switched the switch out a couple of times it worked but only for like a month then stopped working how can I fix this????

You were throwing already old problematic parts at the problem. the issue is to get an OEM replacement and be done. original GM parts are the best for your blazer.

I bought a brand new unit now I still hear a leak in the switch but only when I put it on the windshield or windshield and floor or just floor setting on the switch and when I switch it to those settings it still doesn't switch but the rest of the settings work no problem with no leaks now why is that?

1999 Chevy Blazer HVAC problem...Heat or AC will be delivered through any vent then after approximately 15 min it seems line a damper shuts and no air is delivered. The blower is still operating but there...

I think that yr. the unit worked on a vacume system sometimes the line will get a crack in it causeing it to act weird. or vibrate loose. I am not 100 percent sure on this but think it is correct, I hope this helps just a little

Ac wont come thru vent on 97 chevy blazer. ac will come out thru defroster and sometimes the floor vent but it isn't coming out of forward vents

Check the vac lines for leaks on the drivers side rear of the engine compartment. The ones going to the vac ball attached to the hood.

Rear a/c heat vent do not work

Sounds like the flapper valve for the rear heater/AC core is not doing its job to send the air through the AC core when called for.

Another clue of this is the fact that the air is coming out on the lower vents when it should be up high fro AC.

Have someone listen back by the fan inlet in the back usually on the right while you switch between AC and heat to see if they hear any noise or change in air flow.

Worst case is that the interior panel there has to be removed to service the assembly behind it.

We found water & mildew on floor board of passanger side of 2001 Chevy Blazer LS. We figured that the a/c evaporator line is clogged, but where is it located? How do you get to it? Any info greatly...

The ac drains to the outside thru the firewall under the outside part of the heat/ac box under the hood. Tube can get clogged. Does your car have a sun roof? the drain tubes on a sun roof can also come off and put water into the cabin.

I need to change the water pump and I need to know the proper way to do it for a 1997 Chevy Blazer LS 4.3 litre.

First you need to drain down the coolant, secound take top of fan shrould off 2#10 bolts on each side, third loosen fan bolts, fourth take belt off, fifth take fan off, sixth unbolt anything that is bolted to water pump like power steering pump, maybe ac. pump heater hoses ect. last take 4 bolts out that hold water pump to block 2 on each side and thats it. Clean old gasgets off engine block and bolt on new pump with new gasgets witch will come with new pump. Put back to gether in reverse order.
