Try starting while depressing the gas pedal. Did it start? If so, remove engine cover (if equipped), inspect vacuum hoses and lines for cracks or breaks. If need be, have an assistant to keep the car running while you also listen for hissing noise which is also an indication of a vacuum leak. Did this work?
When you operate the brakes, does the brake light come on? If not, then check and/or replace your brake switch (located towards the top of the brake pedal).
If your brake light works, then check the gear shift lock solenoid operation. Check for power to the solenoid, when the brake pedal is depressed and check the solenoid movement. Replace if necessary.
Flow valve in the transmission is sticking most likely.this is usually caused by some other failure creating metal particals that should not be in the system.Good luck!
You have a very bad COP Ignition Coil, that is spiking the PCM (computer)
The spike comes back on the TPS Sensor, then the PCM doesn't see the
throttle signal your foot sent thru, the pedal actuator (gas pedal) ,so it puts the
car into ETC Failsafe, and you can only go 6 mph.
If you got no ETC Failsafe, on the bottom right side of the dash, tell me what you do have
I need all the codes,if you have a MIL Lamp on ( the one that looks like a wrench)
Just figure i would try and help, Did you get gas just before this happened? It could be as simple as bad gas, However i have seen problems with them having bad ignition coils.
I think its like $300 for a diagnostics at a Lincoln dealer and i know you can get a set of six ignition coils for $225.00
Well good luck in the morning and i hope it is just bad gas, Well let me know and good luck.
Don't know yet
