SOURCE: Crankshaft and camshaft position sensors

MAke sure you replaced the right sensor and it's the proper design.(If you bought a generic part, it;s probably the wrong thing) I replaced my cam and crank sensors with the generic ones from AutoZone and they had no effect. Took it to Nissan, they replaced both at my expense, AND REPROGRAMMED THE ECU. That fixed that problem SES light hasn;t come on in 6 months....Fingers crossed

The diagram shows it to be to the right of the oil fill cap down in the bellhousing when viewed from overhead, two wire connector.Looks like it might be right next to or under the motor grab hook..look for black/yellow and light green wire at connector..Good luck.

SOURCE: Can you tell me where the crankshaft position

V6 or 4 cylinder? If you go to and go to the forums you can find a free manual download in the DIY section. The page is in the EC section and starts at page 970. You will find a picture in the book download but the sensor on the V6 is on the side of the motor on the passenger side (U.S.) to the left of the suspension. You will probably have to remove the plastic inner fender cover to be able to get a clear view of everything.

I spent all day today looking for this because it's not in a normal spot.

Follow the positive battery cable, it leads to the starter. If you open the hood, its level with your knees, where the eng and trans meet. If you cant find it, how do you know its bad, how did you test it?
