Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn ?
The crankshaft position system (CKP) variation compensating values are stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) non-volatile memory after a learn procedure has been performed. If the actual crankshaft position system variation is not within the crankshaft position system variation compensating values stored in the PCM, DTC P0300 may set, refer to Diagnostic Aids for DTC P0300 .
The Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn Procedure should be performed if any of the following conditions are true:

Crank sensor, 2006 buick 4.6l location

This engine has two sensors, they are located in the side of the block and pick up the crank position from the crank throws. Below is a diagram. Make sure you check the connectors to the sensors for corrosion or fluid infiltration.

How to replace a coolant temperature sensor in a 2006 Buick Terraza

mine was located at the end of the big hose coming out of the top of the radiator. follow the hose to the engine. next to that hose you will see a sensor next to the hose. thats the culpret. Some models have it on the radiator, engine side. same deal, unplug the sensor wire, unscrew the sensor and replace with new one. MAKE SURE you motor is cold and when you pull the sensor the coolant is going to come out so be set up and move fast and you`ll probably wont loose much coolant. keep rags or paper towels below the sensor to keep from getting on the engine and smelling.

My 06 buick terraza says ' reduced engine power',

You want more than a standard code reader!! This way too simple tool fools many people because it doesnt give you all the answers! It wont show "pending" codes, trans codes, or most ABS codes!! The two problems together would lead me to believe that you might have a vehicle speed sensor problem...however, the two messages might not be related at all. What is happening is that the computer system is seeing a major flaw in the sensor feedback from one of the major drivetrain management systems and it has put your car in "limp mode" to avoid damaging the engine. This is a factory failsafe built in to newer cars. Take the car to a good local small shop and they should have a proper diag in short order! If you have a proper diag you at least will know what the risk of continuing to drive will be if you can't afford the work right now!
