If it is a cheap $20 chip from e-bay, throw it away. You will be risking a lot while getting very little in return. The first guy to answer this is absolutely correct.

You did not mention what engine you have.
I have based this reply on a 6.0 liter gasoline engine.
The IAT (intake air temperature) is integral with the MAF that is mounted in the intake duct and if defective will need to be replaced as an assembly.
#2 in the diagram below.
I hope this helps you along.
Let me know if your engine isn't the 6.0
