I am swapping in leather seats. New drivers seat is 10 way, with memory and heat. What wires should have 12v and ground to get power to the seat?

And it won't. You probably jumped too many years, And definitely the plugs. 6 to 10. Power and ground is there, Just at the wrong spot. You need pin outs for both. Alldatadiy.com. You can buy them both.

How to wire a range rover power seat

There are 4 electric motors under each seat and a 5th inside the back rest. Also under each seat is a module containing the relay and memory module It is possible to run new wires but the job will be much simpler if you have (or can get) a pair of original wiring harnesses to go between the module and the harness behind the centre console (remove ashtray, lighter and storage bin) Spade terminals can be used if the module is missing. Make sure the wiring colours all match.

Of course, this is a simplified explanation. Go to Rovers.net for more detail

I have 2010 Ford Taurus SHO seats. I believe they are 8 or 10 way memory seats. Trying to retrofit for a street rod. Have a few wiring diagrams but not enough. Can't get power to any motors yet. Numb

Problem Solved !!! I traced every wire, Bought manuals, Ended up buying a passenger seat wiring harness and removed driver memory control module plus harness. Installed new passenger harness and it works great ! You need VIN# when ordering part, Order number is slightly different then number on wire harness but when it came in numbers matched. Seat heaters and electric seats stopped working. Could this be associated with a fuse problem?

check the wiring harness below the seat. The harness includes the power to the driver power seat as well as the seat heaters for both fron seats. My 2003 has a contact issue where it only works when another person puts pressure around the harness and wires (Bad Connection). This happened after 2 years of use with this harness. harness has been replaced 3 times over 7 years

POWER SEATS WONT WORK

We had this problem numerous time (luckily while under an extended warranty) our local dealer tried fixing it many times, they even put a heavier motor under the seat. After one repair the seat motor stopped working within 2 miles. My husband turned around stayed out in the shop and helped the mechanic discover that when the seat went back at a certain point, the wire under the drivers seat was routed so that it traveled into the seat track and back out, when it went into the track it got pinched and shorted out. (you CAN NOT tell if this has happened by looking under the seat, the wire will NOT still be trapped in the seat track or severed, at a certain point the wires traveled into and then back out of the track causing a main wire to short out (wires are harnessed under the drivers seat which control movement in both seats). The solution - a new wire harness was installed and the wires had to be routed differently to prevent this from happening. The repair only took a few minutes the wire harness had to move over about three inches and the wires got ties to hold them out of the way. That was three years ago and so far this has not been a problem again. Hope this helps, or gives you some place to start looking.

Putting in electric seats in a 2002 Ford Explorer

If your vehicle did not come equipped with power seats it did not come with a harness. Your best bet would to go to a salvage yard and get a used harness from there as a new one from the Dealer might be pretty costly.

Check your owners manual under Warnings audible and see what things are listed to to cause a warning tone it could be a faulty seat beat buckle, to low brake pressure. You have options 1 have it checked 2 turn the radio up high 3 ignore it 4 trade in. Good luck with this decision.

Wiring problems

Yes, but if you don't have a really good diagram for both, you will need to identify each function by trial & error, then remove wires in harness and put them in the right places in the harness plug Use original plug from old seat on new seat.Don't change anything in body harness.
