Where is the steering wheel lock located?

If you have the original broken key try putting a mini drop of super glue on broken tip of key ( use a pin or needle to make mini drop) no wider then the width of key excess glue could make key stick in lock, reinstall key if all goes well after 2-3 minutes key will pullout broken piece with it when you remove it . Additionally lock mechanism is in the steering column Not easily accessible .

My 2001 Chrysler 300 has a broken ignition switch from someone trying to steal it with a screwdriver. How do you remove the ignition switch?

This is not an easy job, Jennifer. You have to remove the steering column cover, then insert the key. There's a little button you can press when you've turned the key to the ACC position - that little button releases the lock cylinder from the steering column.

Control panel lite even after key removed

check your battery terminal connectors. clean them and re-try starting.
If not, you have a short in your ignition/column switch or the ground is shorted to a wire somewhere along the harness to the power. most likely before the fuse panel. many things could cause it. bad connector installed in vehicle. wear due to rubbing from vibrations or heat if wires came in contact with hot enough surface to melt the cover off.
replace ignition/.column switch then go from there.

I broke the key off in the ignition, how do I remove it so i can install a new key way

Hi dwayne,

My personal favorite tool for removing broken keys are the small round files used for cleaning out the holes in the heads of cutting torches.

They are small enough to get in next to the key.
They are abrasive enough to pull th piece back out with it.

They work extremely well for this.
