Clutch in a new Qashqai failed

My car was 8 months old with 11840 km, clutch and gearbox failed. is it wear and tear? Nissan is refusing to pay although is still under warranty. They say it is my fault. This is my 2nd car. I have been driving for 8years. Has anyone encounter this .problem, how do I get them to pay for the repairs.

That's not a misprint!! Actually it was $2750.00 at Fish Creek Nissan in Calgary! They told me it is not covered under the warrenty. It was do to "wear & tear" on the vechicle. I was not pleased to say the least. thanks for the comments.

SOURCE: Sudden clutch failure

Sounds like you have a leak .... a bad master/ slave cylinder .... that car has a hydraulic clutch system you may see oil dripping, much cheaper than a new clutch ... pumping it may help shift until it empties out entirely ... check the reservoir ...

Need to know if its normal for an Xtrail clutch to burn out at 69000 km. If not, why would Nissan not cover it under the manufacturers warranty?

A clutch, like a tire and brakes, is a wearable item and simply not covered under warranty. Some clutches last longer than others but that is because of the way it is used. A clutch that is "ridden" will wear out faster than one than is not. And when you replace the clutch, you will have the same wear pattern with the new one unless you change your riding/driving habits.

Is it a manual or automatic if its manual is your clucth slipping at all , i would be getting your clutch checked, if its a automatic it oculd be a number of things it could be you need to clean you fuel system out and replace you fuel filter or it can also be you bands in your gearbox are slipping (irreparable)

Driving style is the usual cause, such as riding with foot on clutch pedal, holding the car in place on a hill using the clutch, or more likely, "spirited" driving.

probably just your transmission being old and wear and tear catching up to it. engine braking is a good thing in a manual but since automatics cant judge how far to let out a clutch mechanism that doesnt exist to make it smooth, it usually causes more wear and tear than its worth. maybe time for a transmission rebuild and time to leave engine braking to manual transmissions. $30 brake pads vs $2000 transmission. hope this helps ya

call Chrysler and see if this is a factory defect .a clutch should never wear out that fast unless you drive with your foot on the clutch peddle all the time, also the clutch might have been installed wrong or even worse not at all, isnt the work warranted?

abnormal wear and tear due to being ridden by driver and burning it to the point of slipping is usually the answer, premature clutch wear is nearly always driver error, unless the car is only a few months old and it has let go

28000 on my car..needs a new clutch

Definitely not normal wear and tear if you have only done 28000. You need to be really assertive and argue your case. If they don't come good on the warranty make sure you get the old clutch parts back because they can tell an experienced mechanic a lot and once you have a diagnosis from someone independent you could try taking it up with consumer affairs. Assuming you are not driving with your foot resting on the clutch I cant see how it could simply wear out in such a short time.

dear friend-the warrenty on a clutch is only 20 000 km,therefore you have to pay for the replacement, but 2500 dollars is a bit steep i suggest you get more quotes befor reparing.

$2800?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!! HOPE THAT IS A MISPRINT
if it is feeling different then something is not right. the amount of travel should not change
you may have a slave cylinder problem or your clutch release fork has popped off the pivot ball
