SOURCE: i have come to put petrol in my car and cant open

The guide tube for the release cable has crumbled and loosing tension for the cable. Only way is pry it open using a spatula covered in some kind of tape so it won't ruin your paint.

Holden cruze 2010 reset km, from mile doors boot & have to open cap soon for petrol ? I did somethingwrong

Hi Leigh just seen your question, I'm not sure what you are asking. I assume your vehicle was showing miles instead of killometers and you have corrected this issue. am i correct in saying since you have done this you are unable to unlock doors boot and filler cap? please if necessary re write your question. however if i have understood your question I assume you have corrected it by your service window on your dash if not how did you do it this information may help to correct the issue. My 1st thought if accessable would be disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and then reconnect and retry. The vehicle is full of computers and some times require a reboot when strange things happen. Like a home computer or mobile phone. I can't guarantee this will solve the issue but it would be the 1st thing i would do. Hope this helps good luck. If you still have the issue please describe exactly what you have done.

I have a Holden Barina Hatch 2012 model.

I think the system on that car enables you to open the petrol flap once the drivers door is unlocked (either by pulling the cap open or pressing on the flap).

1. Lock the car using the central locking.
2. Insert the key on the drivers door, turn it once and unlock it. Open the door to check you have unlocked it. Then turn the key in the lock again as if you were unlocking it a 2nd time.
3. Now open the petrol flap as the lock should have released.

How do i open petrol cap on bmw 525 diesl

The petrol flap doesn't have a lever to open it like other cars but can be opened when the car is unlocked by pushing on one side of the flap to open, if this will not open then the fuel flap locking actuator is faulty and has not unlocked the fuel flap, if this has occurred open the boot and on the left hand side of the boot you will see a round button, if you cannot see this and you only see a hole then chances are the side cover has been off at some stage and the button hasn't been reinstated, if it is there, pull on it and it will pull the fuel flap locking actuator back allowing you to open the fuel flap.

inside the car in the the gas cap area there should be a cable that you can pull on that will release the gas tank door..

My central locking stopped working and i cant get my petrol cap housing open to put petrol in to get it fixed! any ideas? any way of unlocking it manually? i have an audi a3 2001

On some cars you can unlock the door twice and this will release the petrol cap - otherwise you could check for a loose conection somewhere in the fuse box.

Petrol Fuel Cap door won't open

I had the same problem. Pressing the fuel door unlock button did not work, and I couldn't find any emergency release in the cargo/trunk area. Eventually, I clicked the Lock / Unlock button on the key fob a couple of times and tried again, this time holding the fuel door release button for 1-2 seconds, and it worked. I then sprayed some door lock lubricant into the fuel door lock in case there was something sticking in the mechanism. Don't know if this truly "fixed" the problem, but it's working now.
