How To Repair Ford Taurus

When im driving my front end vibrates just got new tires put on thinking that it would solve the issue. was told a number of things that it could be like the transmission wheel bearings tire rod alighnment just not sure any suggestions?

If the steering wheel is vibrating it may only be tire balancing ,, but whoever put on the tires should have done this ,,, if you jack up te car in front ( and do use axle stands ) catch the wheel top and bottom there should be very little play in it when you rock it ,,, try the same across the wheel ie quarter to 3 ''' if you find excessive play a bearing or steering linkage part is worn ,,,alignment wont cause vibration only uneven tire wear ,,,,,check the play asap because if a balljoint of steering part is badly worn this could become dangerous

Has the car been in an accident? You may have to replace the upper ball joints as well. And you will have to get an alignment after that. I would get the tire set correctly before I started changing bearings. Of course it may be that the bearing is so bad that that is what is causing the wheel to lean so badly?
With the car jacked up, can you move the wheel laterally - it should be very tight.

I certainly would take it back to the shop that performed the brake job and have them investigate. If it was not making the noise prior to the repair there is a good chance the noise is involved with the brakes. A possible loose brake pad, a sticking caliper(caliper pins may need to be lubed) or any number of things could be wrong.

You have a possibility of a couple of things going on there. If I was there, Id be able to eliminate a few rather quickly....First, check the tire for any out of round condition by jacking up that corner and turning the wheel, sighting along the edge of the tread area to a fixed point so you can see any variations. Do the same with both sidewalls. If you have a broken internal belt, it can build up heat as it shifts while driving.
Next, check the brake rotors. If the brakes are staying applied slightly while driving, the rotor will begin to turn brownish or blue. If you find that is the case, check the caliper slides to make sure that the caliper can move freely.
If that seems OK, it is possible that the rubber hose going to the caliper has internally failed which can also keep the brake applied. If after removing the hose from the caliper, you cannot retract the caliper piston easily, then the caliper likely has rust around the piston bore and needs to be replaced.
A quick check for brake binding is to jack up the wheel after driving till it gets hot. With the transmission in neutral, try to turn the wheel. If there is excessive drag there your problem is one of the items I just mentioned.
Only other thing I can think of is some strange malfunction in abs system, but generally, you would have a failure light on the dash.

Alignment will not create a sound by it's self. The most common cause of humming (especially if you have an agressive tread design)is a wear pattern in the tires...check for that or rotate the tires around & see if the noise changes. If it does then you know it's in the tires. & Not always, but most of the time a bearing noise will increase or decrease in intensity if you load up one side at a time by doing 35-50 mph & turning slightly to each side.

If the front end was lowered you need to make sure the tire allignment still checks out okay. The issue could also be with one of the drive shafts or the U-Joint on the shaft.

This vibration can be caused by a number of things, may be in the tires or in the front end or in the drive train, ( transmission,transfer case or the diffirental). I would start with the basics, make sure all tire pressures are equal and tire balancing is good.
If there is still a vibration at 60-70 then i would have the front end checked.Check for worn or loose ball joints or worn tie rod ends and other steering suspension components.

Car vibrates above 40 MPH

your wheels more than likely needs to be balanced one or more are out of round if you had the tires rotated before the alignment this would make the vibrating more noticible.but balancing should solve your problem.

Clunk when shifting car into drive from park 1990 ford taurus.

If the front end vibrates when you put the brakes on it could be a few different problems. Your need to check the brakes, they may be worn. if the back brakes are worn your front brakes are doing all the stopping. if your brakes are fine then you are looking at the front control arms or the upper and lower ball joints. You can take your car to a brake and front end shop for a free estimate. You are probably looking at about 400 to 1200 dollars.

Steering wheel vibrates badly at certain speeds on highway.

I would put money on it that you have a bad belt in a tire...
