Most likely the battery is in a weakened state caused by numerous memory circuits using very small amounts of electricity when key is off. You may want to get the battery checked to see how much life is left in it, it may be getting time to replace it.

Try charging your battery and/or replacing it, sounds like a dead battery. Repost if I am missing something, you didn't say if anything worked at all.

Warning battery light

It means that you have not been keeping the battery posts clean, the belt to the alternator tight etc. If the battery has died once real bad it may need replacing. It is a custom to change the voltage regulator when you change a battery. The battery has to be carefully chosen for size, shape, internal resistance etc that will match your car and your charging system so don't put just any battery in it. A new battery will ensure cold weather starting and is a good idea since winter is coming. We Canadians can testify to that. :)

Mercedes M empty battery

Thats actually not uncommon for a battery to run out of juice after sitting for a while. What is uncommon is the amount of time that elapses in your case. It shouldn't be empty after a week. However, this is assuming that you have a "Good" battery, or one that starts out at 100% before you leave your ML for the week. Factory installed batteries usually need to be replaced after 3-5 years. If I were you I would get the battery checked at AutoZone.

In the rare case that you have a 100% "Good" battery, you may have a constant draw from the battery when the car is off. This is highly unlikely. Check the battery out, and report back if you have any more questions!

1999 Mercedes Benz ML 430 periodically stalls at idle

Hi, Joe here The problem sounds like a faulty crankshaft position sensor. The sensor is located on the transmission bell housing on the left side. Can be accessed threw the top of the engine near the firewall.
