SOURCE: heater only blows warm air.

The hoses from your heater core should be very hot to the touch. Check the hoses going to the core from the water pump. It should be very hot. The return hose should also be very hot. Now check the hoses going to the core. If they are not the same temp, then your heater control valve is not working correctly or the vacuum is not working. At any rate, locate the vacuum line going to the heater valve. Remove the silver bar on the valve from the plastic plunger arm. You will have heat all the time now if it was only a vacuum problem. You can fix it later when it's warmer out. BTW a 200* thermostat will make your heater even hotter.

SOURCE: air and heat not blowing air through vents

Either Your fan switch is burned out or you blower motor is no good, your blower motor is on the passenger side under the dash. Before you replace any parts you need to check your fuses and relays under your hood and in the car. Usually if your fan switch goes bad you will still get some air blowing thru the vents, so my guess would be blower motor, If its not a blown fuse or relay.

SOURCE: Heater does not come on, Radiator fluid full.

Probably air locked. check to see if one of the hoses leading into heater is hot. Other cause could be heater solenoid control valve faulty. Very unlikely that the heater matrix is blocked. Easiest way to bleed heater is to remove hose's when car is cold and GENTLY flush through with garden hose and push hoses back on when full of water, so you know you have a heater full of fluid. Hope this helps

Why would I not have heat? 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 truck. motor temp gets to 190 degrees after replacing faulty thermostat. but the heater don't blow hot air. blows cool to warm. everything moves and...

Stacey
sounds like your blower motor is OK so either the hot water is not getting through the heater core, or the air is not being routed across the heater core. If the hoses or core are blocked, that would do it or if an air door is not allowing the air to the core.

Hopefully it won't come to core removal, but this video should illustrate what is going on. There are also videos for unplugging the core. good luck

My 1993 jeep Cherokee heater is not working right. While driving, it gets sort of warm but not hot and it doesn't blow the heat, it just gets warm. The blower doesn't work at all. Not with heat or on A/C....

It sounds like you have 2 separate problems. The lack of heat could be it needs a new thermostat. The blower problem is that either the blower switch is bad or there's a short somewhere in the wiring.

No heat I have changed thermostat, blow air thougt

I had this exact problem. Suspect a clogged heater core and you will probably have to replace it. Make sure you have the valve that opens the heater that works. You can remove it and see if it works. The valve is a vacuum valve that is connected within 10 inches of the 2 firewall heater hoses.

If the valve opens and stay opens and passes water well then disconnect the output of the heater and verify the that water flows well and you may be ok with the heater core being ok.
I know you do not like to hear but with all these tests, you should replace the heater core in the cab. It is a pain to remove but doable.

Worried about a blown head gasket. Just replaced radiator becuase of leak. have yet to change thermostat (soon) I am getting no heat to the cab. I have no symptoms of a head gasket blow out such as sweet...

If you are not getting white smoke out of the exhaust then your head gasket should be ok. You could either have a Thermostat that is stuck open which would not allow the coolant to warm up to give you heat or the heater control valve is not working properly and is not closing the flap that directs the blower through the heater core to give you heat.

2003 dodge durango front heater will not blow heat. but when driving heat will slowly come throught the heater vents. what should i check?

Since your blower is working and it is a heat issue, thats where we'll start,First thing is have you checked the coolant level in the radiator when engine is cold, make sure it is filled to top, next verify you have coolant in reserve ,Start your van and get it up to normal operation temperature,If your heat gauge on the dash works correctly it should be 190 degrees,Now lift the hood and locate the two heater hoses going into the heater assembly at the fire wall,Both hoses should be hot to hold on to,if both are hot and no heat inside your problem will be the blend air door in heater assembly.
if neither hose is that hot you need to replace the thermostat in the engine to get it up to 195 degrees.
if one hose is hot and one is luke warm then the heater core is blocked and to blame. hope this helps you.
