How do I access the trouble codes on a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis without a scan tool?

You can access them by going to the link, some late 1995 vehicles were OBD2, then you would have a diagnostic connector under the dash below the steering wheel, otherwise you do it under the hood (OBD1). FORD 1983 1995 OBD1 Decoder

I have a 93 gmc z71. Its been running really weird. It has no acceleration and its been shaking bad at low speeds. All plugs, coil, distributor, rotor have been replaced. New computer as well. Used an obd1...

I'm showing code 72 as being a problem with the vehicle speed sensor, and code 81 as a 2nd - 3rd shift error in the transmission.
Have you replaced the plug wires, and checked the base fuel pressure ?

How to fix a Lack of acceleration from stand still?

Start by checking the OBD1 fault codes with a code reader, then if nothing shows up check the fuel pressure, it should be 42-44 PSI, and it should go up when you race the engine for a second to about 50-52 pounds, up never down, if it goes down then you may have a plugged fuel filter or failing fuel pump. How long has car sat without running?
What happened the last time it was running - engine overheat? ran engine while low on oil/ coolant?
How many miles? any prior (recent) work done? Have you read the OBD1 Codes? (obd1 codes are vehicle specific.,. (so that would be a dealer for this year auto)

Starts nocking 10 minuits after running sound great the first ten minuits and the truck throws no codes

a 95 is only obd1 so problably wont get many codes. the oil is thicker in the first ten minutes or so, after it warms up the oil thins out. short of rebuilding the engine and/or doing a head job, try some lucas oil treatment or high tach. both are very viscous and help with thin oil

I have a ford focas 2001 1.8 tddi which smokes on

How many miles does it have? does it come out of the tail pipe? if so you may have bad valve guide seals to see if some lucas engine oil might help with the smoking and change air filter and PVC valve. IF that helps it will give you an ideal the engines is wore out.
