Why is my 1998 Ford Windstar 98 reading DTC P0743?

#1) Low or dirty transmission fluid #2) Wire/circuit issue shorted to power or ground #3) Failed torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid #4) Failed TCC assembly in the torque converter.....

Since Transmission has been rebuilt I would strongly suspect the TCC solenoid and/or its wiring...When transmission was rebuilt did the TCC get replaced? If so, due to being intermittent, Check the TCC plug (both female and male) for bent or dirty contacts...also insure you have close to zero ohms of resistance from negative battery post to transmission case...A poor ground will cause a problem and be at times...saailer

2003 ford windstar, my heater hose is leaking at the connection to iron pipe, I need a diagram to figure out how to fix

Most likely while you are in there it's time to replace the hose. Saves having to go back if it starts leaking on the other end which is highly likely given the age. There should be a return heater hose, it is probably in similar condition. Diagram may be available via google. Youtube may show you how to. A very bright led flash light will allow you to see and trace the heater hose. You'll need to drain the radiator save the antifreze if new. Replace if old. Any other cooling system hoses need to be replaced? How is the water pump. It's not the leak is it? Otherwise Library probably has repair manual, or may be time to invest in repair manual. Lightly used may be available on Ebay and others. New hoses are cheap insurance against possible failure.

What makes the starter relay click on?

The ignition switch has a position or terminal which sends a signal to the starter relay. On some Models, there is a safety switch between the ignition switch and the Relay. This is to insure that your foot is on the brake pedal and/or the transmission is in Park or Neutral. Often a switch on the brake pedal lever can interrupt the starter. For these Models you can check the brakelights to see if they still work when the pedal is pressed. Sometimes the gearshift can contain a safety switch to insure that you do not start the vehicle in gear. If this switch is not broken, it may be out of alignment.

Will 16 inch tires fit on a 97 ford windstar

If the stud pattern and off set is the same they will fit on. The problem is that regulation requires the ride height to be maintained which means that you will have to fit a lower profile tyre . For example if you use 15 " 205/95-r15 tyres then you may have to go to 205/65 r16 tyres . Talk with a tyre shop and discuss the legal requirements as far as insurance goes with a wheel size change

Someone hit my car and the insurance co. didn't allow the body shop to check the electonic parts. All lights are on for no reason. The car is speeding less and something smells. What could it be?

Maybe cantact the insurance company and suggest that you take your car to a "licensed" car repair place or a new car dealer. If the problems they find can be proven to be ralated to the accident, that they will pay for them. But remember, if they can't prove them to be related. You will have to pay the shop for the time spent on the car.

2001 ford windstar window

well all this depends on what the extent of the damage was done when it was broken into I can not tell u what that was because i can not see it. AS far as a spike in the alarm i doubt it the auto insurance guys usually know about cars and how they work so i doubt u will get anything from that. Now if the guys that broke in tried to start the car and cut wire s and so on then i would say yes.I live in the Atlanta area I would be glad to look at it for u.
