Have you bled the brakes? That is the first thing i would do. Bled the air out and refill them, then make sure there are no leaks in lines, valves, or fluid reservoir. It's very possible there is a leak in a line, even if slight.

SOURCE: My brakes are taking too long to make the car

very scary, but first you would need to see how much brake fliud is in the resv. how low are the pads, but that probably wont be the problem. easy way to check is with the car in part and running, press down on the padel to see it will stay at one point when depressed. if it holds but slowly lowers it might be a sign of a leak at one or more brake lines or a bad master cylinder

This can be from warped rotors in the brakes. If you had to slam the brakes recently you may have warped them! May also be uneven brake pads. Check both and if there is an issue with them replace right away to avoid any safety issues!

Brake trouble shooting

First off make sure you have brake fluid in your reservoir. Secondly if brake fluid is at the full line. I would try bleeding the brakes. This takes two people. On each cylinder there is a bleeder valve. Start with the drivers front with the engine off have somebody pump the brakes 3 or 4 times then hold it to the floor. open the bleeder valve and the break will go to the floor shut the brake bleeder valve. And repeat 2 more times. " MAKE SURE YOU CAN CHECK YOUR BRAKE FLUID AT EACHthe STEP AND REFILL RESERVOIR AS NEEDED".Then move to the next 3 until complete. If this does not fix your problem most likely you have a bad master cylinder. Good luck.

have vehicle towed to garage for repair you must have blown a line / wheel cylinder/ caliper or something or jst wore your brakes out period.
most people wont have the right tools to fix those big brake assemblies.
and dont be suprised if the bill is huge

When push brakes you have to push really hard to make them go in then the truck barely stops. Replaced the MC and bled the brakes now every time push brakes truck acts like its going to die. Brake light...

Sounds like you will have to bleed your brakes again, but thats not the problem og hard brake peddle, need to check your power brake booster, sit right in back of master cylinder, check make sure it has vacum going to it, also to test it with engine off, press on brake peddle three time, then state engine with foot on peddle, peddle should go down a few inches, also with engine of peddle should feel soft for three pumps, if you have none of this , power brake booster is bad.

While in stop and go traffic my brake pedal went

check the brake fluid level, if its low, there may be a leak, if the level is good, the master cylinder is bad.

We found a leak in one of the rear brakes in our 05 Dodge Neon SXT. while driving, the brakes would respond with one pump, then the next my foot would go to the floor. if i pushed hard as they were on

if you found a leak, was is an air leak or a fluid leak? Since you state the rear brakes were leaking I assume its brake fluid. You must clean away all fluid and have the car securely supported in the air to see were the leak is coming from with someone else pressing on the brake pedal while you watch underneath the area with the problem
