2004 se v6 when I try to start it it wint turn over without pushing in gas pedal. other times it will keep cranking even after I stop turning the key, other times it starts just fine. what could the problem be?
When you say -turn over do you mean firing-turning over to me means the starter motor is cranking or turning over-firing is when combustion happens in the cylinders-as far as the cranking continuing-try some wd40 in the ignition switch-it may be hanging up-Denny
It's possible that there mayp be a vacuum hose that came off or brocktphat would be a cheep fix

Sounds like a bad starter solenoid, usually cheapest and easiest to replace the starter and solenoid as a unit. It is always best to check for power between the solenoid and the starter with a test light, if the solenoid clicks but the test light doesn't light up you have found the problem in the solenoid.
SOURCE: will not start unless press gas pedal
what happens when it does finally run, does it run rough, black smoke?? if the fuel pressure regulator is leaking it COULD causet his problem. Find the regulator and take the vac hose off, if there is fuel in the hose, replace the fuel pressure regulator.
SOURCE: 1999 dodge durango; when i turn key the car will
either dead cell in battery or the idle air sensor or oxygen sensor going bad
SOURCE: 2004 F-250, 5.4l gas. Won't start or even crank.
are you referring to the starter relay on the firewall? the voltage should drop to 0 when measuring across the signal path because the connection is made, essentially making it a piece of wire and there is no difference in potential between the two points. is there 12v to the starter motor? is the starter solenoid (located on the starter) receiving 12v? check fuses and fusible links. disconnect hot leads from the starter. remove the starter, and supply 12v directly to the motor. does the pinon gear extend and spin? starter.
