When my engine is ticking over and then i put the accelerate down white smoke comes outand theres a smell is it my turbo thats away

white smoke would normally mean water is being burn in the cylinder. if it is a sweet, sugary smell then the head gasket is almost certainly blown.
greyish smoke with an burnt oily smell would point towards the turbo oil seals being the problem.

either way, this should be checked properly and quickly by a specialist to find exactly what the problem is. if either of these problems are left to develop, it could result in serious engine damage, and costly repairs. if sorted soon enough, it could save you a lot of money.

hope this helps.

My engine management light as come on and i lack power what does it mean

Hello. In order to find out why that light is on you have to have your car's computer scanned. AAMCO repair shops and many auto parts stores now scan for free. Do that first. It will tell you why you lack power. Joe

Can not close the sun roof on the 2003 land rover freelander. It will not go down in the back.

the procedure for resetting the travel limits for the sunroofs of the lr3's is with the engine running, hold the sunroof switch to the open position until the sunroof automatically opens and closes and stops moving. this takes about a minute. i'm not positive that the procedure is the same on the freelanders, but it's worth a shot. if it doesnt work in the open position try it again in the closed position. good luck!

Freelander td4 power loss at 70mph

yeah, don't drive so fast!!!!...seriously i would do what has to be done anyway to start. change fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires. these have to be done at some point if they haven't been.. if that solves your problem, if not look at fuel pump, injectors.u didn't say if it used to go faster, maybe there is a limiter.

Loss of power and acceleration on Mazda 6 Turbo diesel 2003

I'm assuming that that smoke was more previlant while going uphill because that's when the turbo would be really spolling up to max psi. I would guess that if you really got on the gas hard and got the turbo going even on a flat surface, that you would notice the smoke too. The loss of power and the white/grey smoke are tell tale signs that your turbo is bad or starting to fail. Good luck!

2004 Dodge ram Diesel trubo is out

Have you guys checked your air filters? If it is indeed a bad turbo you can go to and buy a subscription for your vehicle that will give you the procedures to remove the turbo. It cost less than 20.00 and its good for 1 year and well worth the money. I think if you are slightly mechanically inclined you can do it yourself. Good luck and I'm here if you need me. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
