What caused odometer to stop working?

The new cars have a electronic wheel sensor that feeds the odometer. you may need to reset the sensor to the odometer connection. I would google it or read how on a Spark forum page. There are several. they have tons of info.

I just saw the year so this is the wrong answer for a 2013. Sorry!

FOR an older car ---> then: The first thing I would check is where the cable connects to the ODOMETER.. If that comes unscrewed the odometer will stop. There is a screw in connection where the cable fits into the transmission. If that comes unscrewed it will stop working. BUT YOU WORKING NEAR THE ODOMITER SO CHECK THE BACK OF THE ODOMETER AND SEE IF YOU PULLED OR PUMPED SOMETHING LOOSE. I also think it's possible that a wire on the wrong place could cause the odometer to stop. If the cable connections are
ok and wires are connected correctly then the turning cable is broken or the gauge itself.
I'M HOPING THIS HELPS. ALSO HOPING YOUR NEW IGNITION SWITCH WORKS TOO!
{I wish I knew if all readings on the odometer stopped. But I don' t.}.

Mitsubishi verada 2005 adjusted steering wheel and now no speedo working

There are a few possible reasons why your 2005 Mitsubishi Verada's speedometer might have stopped working after you adjusted the steering wheel. The steering wheel sensor may have been damaged: The steering wheel sensor is responsible for sending the speedometer signal to the instrument cluster. If the sensor is damaged, it will not be able to send the signal properly, which can cause the speedometer to stop working. The instrument cluster may be faulty: The instrument cluster is the part of the vehicle that displays the speedometer, along with other information such as the odometer and fuel level. If the instrument cluster is faulty, it may not be able to display the speedometer signal properly. The wiring may have been damaged: The wiring that connects the steering wheel sensor to the instrument cluster may have been damaged during the steering wheel adjustment process. If the wiring is damaged, it will not be able to transmit the signal properly, which can cause the speedometer to stop working. If you are experiencing this problem, it is important to have your vehicle diagnosed by a qualified mechanic to determine the root cause of the problem. Once the cause of the problem has been identified, the mechanic can recommend the necessary repairs. Here are some tips to help prevent this problem from happening in the future: Avoid adjusting the steering wheel too much. Be careful not to damage the steering wheel sensor or the wiring during the adjustment process. If you notice any problems with your vehicle's speedometer, have it checked out by a qualified mechanic as soon as possible.

Speeddomater

If the odometer also does not work, and the car was built since 1992, the speed sensor in the transmission has probably failed.
