SOURCE: how do i replace the rear hatch struts on a 2005

There are small spring clips on the top and bottom of the strut. Place a small flat blade screwdriver in the notch out and pull the clip out - the strut will slide off the ball joint when the clip is pulled.
Apparently the struts are matched, so order the left side or right side strut as needed. I'm off to the dealer now to pick up my replacement . . . . .

SOURCE: problem removing rear wiper on 2006 honda pilot

You can't replace the wiper. But Parts department at any Honda dealer should sell the replacement blade (just the rubber part). I believe it was under $10. Good luck!

Back hatch locks and unlocks several times all by itself

Sounds like you have a short in your wiring to the back hatch. If you have a remote make sure its not damaged could be opening the hatch like that. If your remote is fine check the relay to the hatch and the fuse that goes with it. and if you have a hatch button inside the vehicle it could have gone out and cause a short.

Rear hatch doesn't lift by itself when opened

There are gas charged mini-shocks which open the door. Get a new set on ebay, stay away from the dealer. They are not hard to replace, tricky part is to have someone there to hold it up while you work on it so the hatch does not fall on your head. I am sure any garage could do this for you in less than a half hour if you are not mechanically inclined.

You can use a flat blade screwdriver and use it on the latch to release (open) the mechanism so the hatch will latch next time you close it.

Rear hatch is stuck closed possibly from broken glass in lock mec

Removed the inspection cover for the lock mechanism on the inside of the back hatch and used a screw driver to manually unlatch the door while someone else was pulling on the handle. It turned out there was a lot of glass around the pocket where the lock mechanism was possibly binding the lock
